Gauteng has just experienced a week of an English winter - well perhaps autumn maybe even summer. Whatever it compares to, it was quite unusual for Johannesburg to have to wear extra clothing and even switch on the heating in the house.
The storms were ferocious. The rain came in torrents.
The torrents obviously were not nearly as much as what was experienced in the Lake District in the UK. The area experienced the highest ever amount of rainfall in a 24 hour period. Bridges were washed away and people were forced from thier homes and businesses.
A week ago, the New York winter was warmer that the Johannesburg summer. Thankfully that situation has now been rectified.
Is it just my imagination, or are the weather patterns really changing?
Are we experiencing the early warning signs of global warming?
