| I had a great holiday thank you for asking. I was totally detached from any news (online and print) and tonight I get back home switch on the TV and I have to see that our lovely government is looking into creating red light districts for 2010 where sex and prostitution will be legal. I think I should go on holiday again. Well why don't we create some other districts to accommodate our foreign guest 5 star style. Here are a few I had in mind:
With all of these districts being planned I just have one question. Did anyone consult with Eskom as to whether they will be able to accommodate the demand in electrisity? I mean if I am a foreigner walking the streets looking for the red light district during load shedding I will literaly be f*&ked. "Excuse me Sir, how do I get to the red light district. I am not able to follow the direction boards in the dark." I remember distinctly that Greece made extreme efforts to clear the streets of Athens of prostitutes during the Olimpic Games in 2004. Here in South Africa we are looking at ways to invite them to "safer" havens. Great plan!!! Let's show the world that we are not a 3rd world country and a force to be watched. Idiots! |

Pesonally I think the prostitutes will be a lot safer if they're put in legal. managed, regulated brothels as will the clients. Athens didn't do themselves any international favours bty clearing the streets and neither did Sydney when it packed off all the hobos to Surfer's Paradise before the 2000 games

A red light district is a great idea as long as you can control it. Seeing that our government can't control nothing i forsee it to become a heaven for rapist drug sellers and other criminals. Just the place you want to send our tourist to. Viva la chaos! :grin

Not sure how it would work out, considering HIV issue here. Like, you get vaccinated before you enter the district, against malaria!? :grin
Nice article man.

But Source, I thought you knew? The entire country has been a 'Rainbow Light district' - where anything illegal goes - for YEARS!!!
Good ol'e South Africa, where we, the people, live behind bars, while the criminals are free to roam the streets freely...
