Finding Mr. Wrong (6) The Actor

There is never quite another like a man that has taken acting lessons.  Especially method actors who seem to become the character they are portraying.  One never really knows if what they are saying or feeling is real or just another of their fantasies being tried out on you – the unsuspecting lover.  If you like living in a world of make believe, then this may possibly be your kind of guy.  Think of it this way; at least if you’re moody or suffering from PMS it won’t matter to him, he will have a personality to suit each of your moods.

Life could be rather fun dating a doctor one day, then a terrorist the next.  Perhaps a serial killer when it’s full moon!  Another advantage of dating an actor is if he becomes famous, you get to walk the red carpet with him on different occasions and get to feel like you are also a star, not just him.  Flipside of the coin: Once he is famous other girls will be throwing themselves at him.  As you are pushed aside by them, he loses sight of you in the glare of fame.  You may no longer be next to him smiling, basking in the limelight, but rather in the background trying desperately not to look like a wall flower with tentacles clinging to your man.

When you take “The Actor” home to meet the folks there will be a general feeling of weariness and perhaps a touch of disdain.  Parents tend to want the best for their little girls and actors seem to carry a reputation of being Casanovas and cheats.  Daddy is really not going to approve!  Perhaps if yours is really good he may convince your father that he is actually a brilliant scientist on the verge of discovering a new platonic plane.  Or a doctor who daily performs heart surgery to save young lives, the only problem is you will have to keep up this act for as long as you’re together.

The actor is easy to locate but may not always be the easiest to meet.  All you have to do is to go to a reputable theatre to find one.  To actually meet one you will need a LOT of guile and at least have a few wits about you.  Struggling actors are found in acting classes or perhaps even elocution lessons.  Whether you decide to take acting lessons to tempt fate or decide to watch others make fools of themselves, this is always a good place to start.  All actors take acting lessons at one time or another.  Elocution lessons are always a blast and if you don’t find your actor there at least you will be well spoken at the end of the day.

Another good place to find an actor would be the local hotspot or most expensive night club.  A struggling actor will be vying for attention showing off his toned muscular body pretending to be Mr. Big.  The already made actor will have one or two actresses drooping over each shoulder pretending to be as famous as he is.  If you can separate Mr. World Renowned from his entourage for just enough time to give his ego a really good boost you could actually nab this guy.  Perhaps you can way lay him on his way to the bathrooms and convince him that you’ll be good for him (don’t do the adoring fan thing, they get it all to often and you may get slammed with a restraining order) If it doesn’t work you can have fun together and you have a story to sell to the media:  “My one night stand with a star!”.

As a trained chef you could always apply for work as part of the crew on a movie set.  This will almost always bring you in close contact with the object of your interest.  As the cook you would have the most brilliant profession for getting your actor to notice you as well as keeping him from straying to far.  As the age old saying goes:  “the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach".

Beauticians also have an advantage in the movie-making industry.  You can get really close and personal.  While doing a facial or a massage you could throw in a foot rub for extra measure.  This gets you close to your man and gets the juices flowing.  Cosmetic artists get to work close to actors on a daily basis for a good couple of hours a day.  You get to talk, touch and compliment = easy access.

Personal assistants are another profession that offers potentially in-depth relationships with actors.  This seems be the most advantageous opportunity to get close to your target on a regular basis.  A common disadvantage is that he may come to see you as someone that he can boss around and you become the doormat instead of his dream girl.

Since actors love having their ego’s boosted on a regular basis, you’ll need to have a steady supply of compliments on hand for various occasions to sate this need.  Ego boosting is constant hard work that keeps you near him and on his good side as long as he feels good about having you around.  You will need to look and act like a stage prop to maintain his illusion of contentment.  Unfortunately his ego will always come first, his career second and you are left playing the third fiddle.  Not good for a girl’s self esteem.  If he makes it really big and you just don’t suit the image you may just find yourself on the side walk with a broken heart… paparazzi cameras in your face.  If this is your kind of fun then “The Actor” may be the Mr. Wrong for you.

Motto:  Never date a man with a larger ego than your own; you won’t both fit into the car.
