Kenwood Creates A Stir With New Mixer PDF Print E-mail

Kenwood has been stirring up things in kitchens the world over for the past six decades, but the latest addition to its line of mixers is so hot, it is quite literally cooking!

The Kenwood Cooking Chef truly lives up to its name. It is the first stand mixer that has the ability to actually cook the food while stirring it. This impressive and revolutionary quality is made possible because of the device's 1 100 Watt induction burner. This burner cooks the food while it is being stirred in its 6.7 Litre bowl. Users will be able to set the burner's temperature from 20 degrees Celsius to a steamy 140 degrees Celsius, while a heat-proof spatula will stir the food at three different speeds.

Kenwood Cooking Chef The Kenwood Cooking Chef also has a timer for setting the food to simmer for up to three hours. Apparently, the fact that the mixing and cooking are taking care of will make it far easier for amateur cooks to become super ambitious and try out more complicated recipes, such as whipping up choux pastry, meringues or risotto.

So even though the Kenwood Cooking Chef has retained the classic Kenwood shape of its predecessors, it has certainly come a long way. The latest edition also comes with several tools and attachments, including a food processor, a steamer, a blender, a whisk, a dough hook, a basket attachment that fits on top of the bowl (for making stews) and a beater. This kitchen gadget really alleviates manual labour from cooking, because it even slices, dices and chops.

People who prefer a more hands-on approach during food preparation don't seem to be too impressed with the Kenwood Cooking Chef though, such as the Gizmodo writer who laments: "Where is the fun in that when the alternative is doing it yourself alongside your loved one, improvising, sharing a nice wine, music, and conversation, waiting for your friends to arrive?"

But for any one reluctant chef who might feel that a Kenwood Cooking Chef will be one too many a chef encroaching on their turf, there are probably far more time-strapped home cooks who will surely welcome the mixer's help in the kitchen and who won't mind shelling out £995 for it.
