It would seem that smoking can kill your Apple Macbook, IMac, etc and not just you and the people around you.
Apple has declared war on smokers by declaring them a biohazard and keeping equipment close to them away from their employees and technicians.
Basically if you take a puff in the same general vacinity as an Apple device you can kiss your expensive equipment and warrentee bye-bye. The article just deals with PC equipment but what about your iPhone, Ipod etc? Apple seems to have a policy (unstated, not written down anywhere, not in the fine print of your warrentee card) that smoking means you are not entitled to support.
I don't own any Apple stuff except Quicktime codecs installed on my PC and I don't smoke but so many people are buyin iPhones and Ipods that they might run into this speedbump soon.
And if Apple can get away with it, who else might follow?
I've always told people I work with that PCs and electronic devices work on smoke. Why? Because when the smoke escapes from these devices they stop working. Seems smokers that exhale their nicotene and ash clouds are not managing to blow the smoke back into their devices and making them better but killing them...
