In South Africa if you have a sex tape doing the rounds like Joost did, then the people who has the tape in their possession asks for money. In the US they pay you money if they have your sex tape.
$1 000 000 to be exact!
This is what Vivid Entertainment Group is offering former US Miss California, Carrie Prejean, to get a hold of the distributing rights of the video in their possession. It is almost like they are inviting celebrities to come forward with their sex tapes and sell it to them.
I recon you probably need some bad publicity to support a price tag like this. The celebrity needs to be furious over the tape, cal it their biggest mistake ever and only then will people be interested. Not really, just add the word sex to a topic and it'll sell. A lot like the urban legend that some guy paid Britney Spears a million dollars to sleep with her - there are still kids who believe that.
Just how big is the porn industry when it comes to celebrities?
In my mind you must be pretty sure that you will make more than $1 000 000 in sales if you are willing to dish it out to get the rights to distribute it - or - you might end up loosing more in court if you get sued for doing it without consent. Which is it?
In America it sells, on home bottom Joost just got booted from being a presenter at Super Sport and minor interest in a book he wrote. I am wondering when he started to write this revealing book - before or after the tape made headlines?
This is what Joost should have done:
- Skip the book
- Bought the video
- Made thousands of copies
- Sold it
I am sure he would have made more money. Seriously! Who is going to sit and read for 3-4 days about WHY he did it when they can watch a 45 minute video about HOW he did it.
Mmm, I think I am going to create my own sex video as well and hide it for when I am famous.

And of course, getting on video doing drugs is just plain stupid, not to mention criminal

It was a desperate move to try to promote his book...but the fact that he denied it for so long, trying to be the victim makes him all the more pathetic. He got caught doing some stupid things, and I would have had more respect for him if he held up his hand at that point and owned up. :zzz

Most of the time sex is not the same as what one sees in a true porno, where the actors stop and redo if the scene's a dud. Also there are probably at least 5 cameras on any of the real ones.

I'm going to skip the 'being a pornstar' career move. If you have holes in your socks, you're screwed. And not in a kinky way either.
