Day #12
<yesterday>
Phi-Phi, absolutely awesome, the actual Beach location is called Maya Bay but out of the whole trip it is the most overrun tourist trap but if you take the tourists out of the picture you can see why it’s so sought after. We can also thank Leonardo for that...
The ultimate stop on the Phi-Phi tour though is Bamboo Island, this place represents true isolated decadence. The ultimate escape, clearwater, beach and some bamboo trees... nothing else. This is the perfect place to just pitch a tent and live off the sea. There is an abundance of fish here and there is one cheeky enough to bite me. Granted it didn’t
do much but it still felt like a pin prick.
We also went to a place called Ton Sai Bay, this is a real sad story as the whole place was wiped out by the Tsunami, nothing was left behind, five years on though and the place has rebuilt itself. Looking around though there is absolutely nowhere to run as it is surrounded by mountains. Thinking about it sends shivers down my spine.
We also head to monkey island but don’t stop here as the tour guide reckons they do bite you, so we just watch them monkey about from the boat for a little while. All in all the whole day was idyllic and thank goodness we waited, sunshine and sunshine with only a few spots of rain.
We head back to the hotel and grab a beer around the pool; feeling a little tired so maybe I got a little bit too much sunshine...
We grab an awesome Pad Thai for dinner plus a mixed fruit shake in the streets, a fitting end to our stay in Krabi. We then grab our final drinks at the Blue Orchid and get our last game of pool in, 2 Changs and it’s off to bed and I’m feeling kind of sad...
